NSSF and NOC Empower Kano Teachers in Sports Education

The Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF) and the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) initiated a three-day capacity-building program for Physical Health Education (PHE) teachers in Kano State. This program is part of a nationwide effort to strengthen grassroots sports development and is sponsored by Olympic Solidarity.

A total of 100 PHE teachers from various schools participated in the program, which took place at Government Girls College, Dala. The initiative aims to equip educators with modern tools and knowledge to foster Olympic values in sports education, including excellence, friendship, and respect.

NSSF President Olabisi Joseph stated that the program is a strategic investment in Nigeria's sports future, emphasizing that producing world-class athletes begins with world-class teachers. The program featured Prof Abiodun Morofolu as the lead resource person and was coordinated by Kemi Obidahunsi, who encouraged participants to actively apply their newly acquired knowledge.

Similar training sessions are scheduled for Bayelsa and Lagos states later in the month.
