NOC Commends NSSF for Successful Volleyball Championship

The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) praised the Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF) for its successful hosting of the 2nd National School Volleyball Championship, which took place at the National Institute for Sports inside the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. The tournament, held from April 24, showcased 28 teams, including 10 boys' and eight girls' squads from various states such as Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Adamawa, Bauchi, and Bayelsa.

Bayelsa and Bauchi emerged as champions, while Adamawa and Oyo claimed bronze medals in the boys' and girls' categories, respectively. Engr Habu Gumel, NOC President, attended as a special guest and emphasized the championship's role in nurturing future stars.

Olabisi Joseph, NSSF President, expressed satisfaction with the event's success and confirmed ongoing collaboration with the Nigeria Volleyball Federation to identify top talent for representation at the 2026 International School Sports Federation World School Volleyball Championship in China.
