Over 100 Kano Teachers Trained in Olympic Sports Program

Over 100 Physical Health Education (PHE) teachers from Kano State participated in an Olympic training program designed to reinforce grassroots sports development across Nigeria. The initiative, launched by the Nigerian School Sports Federation (NSSF) in partnership with the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC), aims to strengthen the nationwide drive for sports development.

The program was inaugurated at Government Girls College, Dala, where participants were equipped with modern tools and Olympic values in education and sports psychology. NSSF President Olabisi Joseph emphasized the importance of investing in teachers to produce world-class athletes, stating that everything begins in schools.

Joseph expressed gratitude to NOC President Habu Gumel for the collaboration and support from the Kano State government. The training was led by IOC-certified expert Abiodun Morofolu, with NOC program coordinator Kemi Obidahunsi urging participants to actively apply their knowledge and continuously update their skills to better influence students.

Similar training programs are scheduled for Bayelsa and Lagos State later in the month.
