NTDA DG Ola Awakan Launches Smart Tourism Hub in Ogun

On a visit to Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ogun State, Ola Awakan, the Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA), announced the establishment of a smart tourism hub. This initiative aims to provide virtual access to tourism destinations across Nigeria and serves as a platform for learning and innovative revenue generation.

Awakan, accompanied by his wife Omolola, met with the university's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ayodeji Agboola, and members of the management team.

The smart tourism hub is part of broader efforts to reposition tourism as a key driver of Nigeria's economic diversification, as emphasized by the President. Awakan reaffirmed his commitment to collaborating with the university to enhance curricula focused on tourism and job creation.

Prof. Agboola praised Awakan as a worthy ambassador for the institution and highlighted the hub's potential to expose students to new opportunities in the tourism sector.
