National Assembly and NTDA Advocate for Tourism Growth

The National Assembly, represented by Senator Pam Mwadkon, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Tourism, and the NTDA convened on Tuesday in Abuja to promote collaborative tourism growth in Nigeria. During the 2026 National Hospitality and Tourism Stakeholders Forum, Mwadkon highlighted the necessity of strong collaborative efforts and legislative support to unlock Nigeria's rich cultural heritage and tourism potential.

Hon. Muhammad Muktari, Chairman of the House Committee on Tourism, stressed the importance of strengthening tourism laws to sustain growth and encourage youth involvement in the sector.

Ola Awakan, Director General of NTDA, emphasized the critical role of the private sector in driving tourism growth through public-private partnerships (PPP). He cited successful models like Olumo Rock and underscored the need for community engagement and traditional leadership in tourism development.

The NTDA aims to attract investments from the Nigerian diaspora and private sector to address challenges and achieve sustainable growth in Nigeria's tourism sector.
