NOUN Advocates for Graduate Mobilization in NYSC

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) is pushing for the mobilization of its graduates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), as disclosed by Prof. Abdullahi Ribadu during the university's 15th convocation ceremony in Abuja.

Ribadu emphasized the need for policy changes to allow younger graduates, particularly those under 30, to participate in the NYSC. President Bola Tinubu, who represented the event, commended NOUN for its significant role in widening access to higher education through open and distance learning.

He noted that NOUN plays a vital role in democratizing access to education, providing flexible learning opportunities for various demographics, including women and civil servants. The university has over 500,000 students enrolled and is recognized as Nigeria's premier open distance learning institution.

Tinubu's administration aims to reform and improve educational access and quality, supported by TETFund's investments in technology and infrastructure to enhance NOUN's capabilities.
