NOUN Matriculates 25,517 Students, Emphasizes Excellence

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) held its 30th matriculation ceremony, where 25,517 new students were officially admitted. Vice Chancellor Professor Uduma Oji Uduma addressed the students, encouraging them to strive for excellence and reject mediocrity in their academic pursuits.

He highlighted the importance of access to education and urged students to take ownership of their learning journey. The ceremony was conducted virtually across various study centers nationwide.

The new admissions included 19,149 undergraduate students, 2,194 in postgraduate diploma programs, 4,107 pursuing master's degrees, 20 in MPhil programs, and 47 doctoral candidates. The Vice Chancellor noted that the management sciences program had the highest enrollment with 7,519 students, followed by social sciences with 5,933 students.

Mr. Oladipo Ajayi, the university's registrar, administered the matriculation oath via Zoom and urged students to adhere to the university's rules and regulations to avoid expulsion.
