NUJ FCT Chair Grace Ike Receives Beacon of Education Award

Grace Ike, the Chair of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council, was honored with the Beacon of Education Award for her outstanding commitment to educational excellence and her contributions to advancing youth development. The award ceremony took place at Nile University, where Ike was recognized for her transformative efforts in supporting children, particularly those with special needs.

During the event, she recalled her involvement in a national media quiz competition that helped elevate the fortunes of students at Beautiful Beginnings Academy, which ultimately secured first place. Ike emphasized her dedication to ensuring that children receive the necessary welfare support throughout competitions, including logistical assistance and moral support.

She dedicated her award to Adaez Tochukwu Taha Okek, a student with special needs, whose inspiring story moved attendees. Ike pledged to use her professional platform to advocate for children with special needs, ensuring their stories are told and their voices amplified.
