NUJ FCT Chair Grace Ike Advocates Research in Oil Sector

Comrade Grace Ike, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, called for increased investment in research and digital solutions within Nigeria's oil and gas industry to improve forecasting and navigate uncertainties. She made this statement during her remarks at the 2026 Annual Conference of the Association of Energy Correspondents Abuja FCT (AECAF) held in Abuja.

The conference theme, “Sustaining Oil and Gas Investment in Nigeria amidst Energy Transition,” was noted by Ike as timely, highlighting the sector's critical role in Nigeria's economy, national development, energy security, and job creation. Represented by Comrade Ebriku Friday, an ex-officio of the NUJ FCT Council, Ike stressed the need for a balanced and investment-friendly transition while meeting climate obligations.

She emphasized the conference's role in fostering discussions on investor confidence, regulatory certainty, and local content development, and acknowledged the media's role in informing citizens and holding stakeholders accountable.
