NUJ Announces National Security Summit for Media Partnership

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), under the leadership of Comrade Alhassan Yahya, announced plans to convene a National Security Summit focused on strengthening the partnership between the media and security agencies in Nigeria. The summit aims to address the country's security challenges and will take place with the theme of media and security agency collaboration.

Yahya emphasized the importance of recognizing that national security is a collective responsibility requiring commitment and cooperation among stakeholders. The summit will serve as a platform for journalists, security experts, and government officials to engage in discussions about emerging security threats and explore practices to improve cooperation between media practitioners and security institutions.

The NUJ president noted that the summit is not intended to undermine independent media but to promote dialogue and establish a framework for cooperation that benefits the Nigerian state.
