NUPRC Attributes September Oil Production Drop to PENGASSAN Strike in Nigeria

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has blamed the September oil production drop on a strike by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN). The strike led to the shutdown of production and export facilities, causing a decrease in overall crude oil and condensate production.

Despite a slight year-on-year increase, the average daily production in September fell compared to August 2025. The top eight streams of crude oil products were analyzed, with the Forcado blend and Bonny Light accounting for significant portions.

Eniola Akinkuotu, the head of media strategy and communication at NUPRC, highlighted the impact of the strike on the industry's performance.
