NUPRC Board Inaugurated, Pledges Enhanced Oversight

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) board was inaugurated in Abuja, with Senat Magnu Ab as the Chairman. The board members, including Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan as Chief Executive, pledged to improve oversight and management of the commission to meet its statutory mandate.

They emphasized the importance of strategic collaboration to uplift the commission and ensure it benefits from proper office accommodations. The inauguration comes at a critical time, with rising oil and gas prices influenced by the ongoing Middle East crisis, which has created volatility in the industry.

The board is expected to provide strategic oversight and policy direction to stabilize the sector, enhance investor confidence, and promote sustainable development in the upstream oil and gas sector. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senat George Akum, underscored the federal government's commitment to strengthening Nigeria's petroleum sector through the new board's leadership.
