NUPRC Urges IPPG to Uphold Industry Standards

Oritsemeyewa Eyesan, the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), charged the Independent Petroleum Producers Group (IPPG) to uphold industry standards and strengthen human capital development during a courtesy visit by the IPPG delegation led by its chairman, Adegbit Falad, at the NUPRC headquarters in Abuja. Eyesan highlighted the significance of the IPPG in the industry, especially following the divestment of international oil companies.

She stressed the importance of adhering to the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021 and the need for robust human capital development and corporate governance. Eyesan warned that neglecting these areas could harm Nigeria's competitiveness in the global market.

She assured the IPPG delegation of NUPRC's commitment to supporting the industry and announced that the commission had gone paperless as part of its digital transformation initiative, effective April 18, 2026. Adegbit Falad commended Eyesan's leadership, noting the positive changes since she assumed office in December 2025.
