NUPRC Urges IPPG to Uphold Industry Standards

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), under the leadership of Mr. Oritsemeyewa Eyesan, has charged the Independent Petroleum Producers Group (IPPG) to maintain high industry standards and focus on human capital development.

This charge was made during a courtesy visit from the IPPG delegation, led by its chairman, Mr. Adegbit Falad, at the NUPRC headquarters in Abuja.

Eyesan highlighted the significance of the IPPG in the industry, especially following the divestment of international oil companies. He emphasized the need for adherence to the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) of 2021 and stressed that neglecting human capital development could adversely affect Nigeria's competitiveness in the global market.

Furthermore, Eyesan assured the IPPG delegation of the NUPRC's commitment to its mandate and the ongoing transformation towards a paperless operation, which was officially announced on April 18, 2026. Falad commended the NUPRC's leadership and noted the positive changes since Eyesan assumed office in December 2025.
