NUPRC Enhances Domestic Gas Supply with NLNG Commitment

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) is taking significant steps to enhance domestic gas supply in response to rising demand. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, the Chief Executive of NUPRC, announced that Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) will commit 100% of its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) products to the local market.

This decision aligns with the federal government's agenda to increase domestic gas utilization. During a visit from NLNG's Managing Director, Adeley Falad, Eyesan emphasized the need for regulatory reforms to remove bottlenecks and improve the ease of doing business in the upstream sector.

The NUPRC aims to foster investor confidence and ensure compliance with government regulations. Falad highlighted the growing importance of collaboration across the upstream value chain to sustain gas availability, particularly in the domestic market.

He also noted that local demand for cooking gas is reshaping NLNG's supply strategy. The ongoing Train 7 project is expected to significantly boost production capacity by 35% next year, enhancing both domestic supply and export volumes.
