NUPRC and NLNG Expand Domestic Gas Supply in Nigeria

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) are intensifying efforts to expand domestic gas supply in response to rising demand. Mr.

Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, the Chief Executive of NUPRC, announced that NLNG is committing 100% of its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) products to the local market. This commitment is part of a broader regulatory reform initiative aimed at aligning with the Petroleum Industry Act and removing bottlenecks to improve the business environment in the upstream sector.

The NUPRC is also engaging stakeholders monthly to address industry issues proactively. Mr.

Adeley Falad, Managing Director of NLNG, highlighted the importance of collaboration across the upstream value chain to sustain gas availability, particularly in the domestic market. He noted that local demand for cooking gas is reshaping NLNG's supply strategy.

The ongoing Train 7 project is expected to boost production capacity by 35% next year, further enhancing domestic supply and export volumes.
