Nigeria's Oil Production Reaches 1.84 Million BPD

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) announced that Nigeria's crude oil production has risen to 1.84 million barrels per day (bpd) in recent days. This increase follows the resolution of operational challenges that had previously disrupted production.

NUPRC Chief Executive Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan disclosed this during a visit to the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja, expressing confidence in maintaining this upward trajectory. The earlier dip in production was attributed to scheduled turnaround maintenance at key oil facilities.

Eyesan assured that issues have been resolved and emphasized the importance of sustaining production levels to support Nigeria's fiscal stability. Wale Edun, the Minister of Finance, described the rise in oil output as a positive development aligned with the federal government's objectives.

He urged the NUPRC to maintain momentum, aiming for a target of 2 million bpd. The ongoing crisis in the Middle East was noted as a factor affecting production, highlighting the government's proactive approach to boost oil output.
