NVMA Praises Governor Lawal for Veterinary Salary Increase

The Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Zamfara state chapter, has praised Governor Dauda Lawal for approving and implementing the new Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) for veterinary doctors in the state. Dr. Mukhtar Salihu Anka, the state chairman of the NVMA, made this commendation in Gusau on a Friday.

He described the salary increment as a significant milestone for the veterinary profession in Zamfara, highlighting it as a clear demonstration of the administration’s commitment to staff welfare, professional recognition, and the development of the livestock sector. The new salary scale addresses longstanding concerns regarding appropriate remuneration for veterinary doctors, who play a crucial role in animal health, livestock productivity, public health, and economic development.

Anka expressed optimism that the improved pay structure would enhance staff morale and productivity, encouraging veterinary doctors to continue providing quality services to the community and livestock farmers. He reaffirmed the association’s commitment to collaborating with the governor’s administration on advancing animal health and overall socio-economic growth in the state.
