NYA Warns Against APC's Moves to Weaken Opposition

The National Youth Alliance (NYA) issued a statement on Thursday in Kaduna, cautioning against alleged moves by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to weaken opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections. Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abba, the youth president, emphasized the need for urgent measures to counter these actions.

The statement, released by Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, followed a planned press conference by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who is a leader in the opposition. The NYA highlighted the importance of political dialogue and unity among political actors to address critical national challenges, including insecurity and economic hardship.

They urged political leaders to consider peaceful protests and collective prayers as visible sacrifices to restore public confidence. The group expressed concern over the lack of unity among political actors and called for a new generation of leaders committed to prioritizing citizens' welfare above political interests.
