YAN Warns Against Manipulation of APC Youth Leader Election

Youth Assembl Nigeria (YAN) has raised alarms regarding attempts by certain interests within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to manipulate the election process for the party's next National Youth Leader. In a statement by the National Speaker, Famuyibo Oluwasegun, YAN expressed deep concern over signals suggesting that certain factions within the party aim to restrict the contest through procedural barriers, undermining transparency and fair internal democracy.

This manipulation could alienate young members of the party, which is crucial as the APC prepares for the 2027 general elections. Famuyibo warned that imposing candidates through backroom negotiations would limit competition and lead to dissatisfaction among youth across the country.

He emphasized the importance of a transparent process to maintain the credibility of the APC's youth structure and to ensure that young leaders can freely present their ideas and strategies for the future of the party's youth movement.
