Nigerian Youth Alliance Condemns Politicians' Use-and-Dump of Youth in Elections

The Nigerian Youth Alliance (NYA) strongly criticizes the practice of Nigerian politicians using and abandoning young people after elections, stressing the detrimental impact on the country's democratic progress. NYA President Aliyu Bin Abba made these remarks during the inauguration of state chairmen across Nigeria.

He highlighted the need for a shift towards youth and women's active participation in governance, focusing on service rather than self-interest. The NYA launched its official website and digital portal to enhance transparency and youth engagement.

Former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, urged Nigerian youth to unite and take up leadership roles for national development. Segun Showunmi, a spokesperson for the People's Democratic Party (PDP), emphasized the importance of rescuing the country from prevailing political ideologies through collective action.
