NYC and NFI Sign ₦1bn Deal to Empower 10,000 Youths

The Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) has formalized a ₦1 billion strategic partnership agreement with Nehemiah Foundation International (NFI) to empower 10,000 Nigerian youths and women over a three-year period. The agreement was sealed during a presidential signing ceremony in Abuja on Thursday, marking the launch of the National Youth Transformation Program.

This initiative aims to advance structured youth empowerment and sustainable development nationwide. Beneficiaries will receive targeted support in key sectors, including agriculture, information and communication technology (ICT), digital skills, metal technical skills, entrepreneurship development, and cooperative enterprise systems.

Engr. Annum Jethro Terhil, the president of the Nigerian Youth Congress, described the initiative as a significant step toward translating youth empowerment policies into practical outcomes, prioritizing job creation and skill acquisition.

The program is designed to ensure long-term impact through strong governance and accountability frameworks, including independent audits and transparent reporting. The NFI will provide strategic technical support and donor engagement, while NYC will deploy its nationwide network across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
