NYCN sets up transition committee

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has established a transition committee following the dissolution of its leadership structure led by Amb. Sokubo Sukubo.

The committee, chaired by Comrade Gbenga Adedamola, aims to steer the organization through a period of transition. An extraordinary management meeting held in Abuja on August 7, 2025, brought together key stakeholders to address issues such as alleged constitutional tampering and questionable affiliations within the council.

The meeting resulted in the dissolution of the leadership structure and the decision to retain the 2012 NYCN Constitution as a working document. The NYCN management also reaffirmed its commitment to youth development and applauded the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in increasing support for Nigerian youth initiatives.

The organization is now focused on restoring stability and credibility while preparing for an elective congress in October 2025.
