NYSC breaks silence on assault of female corps member in Anambra

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has spoken out against the assault of a female corps member by an operative of the Anambra State Vigilante Group in Oba Idemili South Local Government Area. The incident, which sparked public outrage, was deemed unacceptable and dehumanizing by the NYSC management.

Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, issued a statement condemning the assault and stating that the conduct of the vigilante group was indefensible. The NYSC is conducting an investigation into the incident and is working with the Anambra State Government and the Nigeria Police Force to ensure justice for the corps member.

The management reiterated its commitment to the welfare and security of all corps members nationwide.
