OAGF Denies PFIPC Has CBN Operational Account

The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF), represented by Director of Public Relations Bawa Mokwa, denied reports that the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) has an operational account with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Mokwa clarified that neither public funds nor salaries have been paid to the PFIPC, which is set to recruit 300 staff members by August 2025.

He explained that while an application was made to open a CBN account, the necessary documentation to complete the process was not submitted. Consequently, the account remains inactive.

Mokwa emphasized that the PFIPC has not received any budgetary allocation from the federal government, and the funds expected for the 2026 budget have not yet been released. He dismissed claims that salaries have been paid to any workers at the agency, maintaining that no recruitment procedures have been followed as required by federal regulations.
