Obanikoro Supports Olarewaju for APC Reps Primaries

Musiliu Obanikoro, the former Minister of State for Defence, convened a stakeholders' meeting on Monday night at the APC office in Amuwo Odofin to garner support for Mose Olarewaju, who is aspiring for the House of Representatives seat in the 2027 elections. The meeting saw the attendance of 38 to 42 party leaders and community leaders, who endorsed Olarewaju as the preferred candidate for the upcoming primaries.

Obanikoro emphasized the importance of adopting a consensus candidate and noted that while aspirants retain the right to contest, any deviation from the collective decision of the constituency's leadership could be detrimental. He congratulated Olarewaju on behalf of the party leaders and members, stating that the endorsement does not exclude others who may wish to run.

The screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 6 to May 9, 2026, with the primaries commencing on May 15, 2026, and concluding on May 23, 2026.
