Ogun APC Names Emmanuel Taiwo as Consensus Candidate

The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has selected Emmanuel Taiwo, the former Chief of Staff to Governor Dapo Abiodun, as the consensus candidate for the House of Representatives seat representing the Ipokia/Yewa South constituency. This decision was made during a high-level stakeholders meeting held in Ilaro, which included prominent leaders such as former Deputy Governor Salmot Badru.

Badru emphasized that the consensus decision was the result of extensive consultations aimed at unifying party leaders. Taiwo, who has administrative experience and political maturity, is expected to effectively represent the constituency in the National Assembly.

His close working relationship with the governor is seen as advantageous for attracting federal projects to the area. Taiwo expressed gratitude to the party leaders for their confidence in him and pledged to prioritize inclusive representation, youth empowerment, and sustainable development in the constituency.

The APC is expected to formally affirm this decision during the upcoming direct primaries.
