Obasanjo Celebrates Oba Sodeinde's 100th Birthday

On Saturday, former President Olusegun Obasanjo honored Oba Olufemi Sodeinde on his 100th birthday during a centenary celebration at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Obasanjo described the monarch as a selfless royal father whose enduring love for humanity is commendable.

He expressed gratitude to God for granting the monarch longevity and a positive impact on the community. Obasanjo's relationship with Oba Sodeinde dates back to 1967 when he served in Ibadan as part of the Nigerian Army's Third Area Command.

He praised the monarch's steadfastness and leadership, emphasizing that being installed as a traditional ruler at over 90 years old is remarkable. Mojisola Sodeinde, the monarch's first child, highlighted her father's discipline and compassion, noting his leadership philosophy rooted in humility and service.

Dignitaries, including former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, also eulogized the monarch during the event.
