Obasanjo Labels Buhari’s Civil Administration as Worst in Nigeria’s History, Criticizes Tinubu

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has criticized the late former President Muhammad Buhari's civil administration as the worst in Nigeria's history in his new book "Nigeria Past and Future." Obasanjo compared Buhari's regime to his earlier military rule, highlighting issues of corruption, economic mismanagement, and political malpractice that were largely ignored during his civilian presidency from 2015 to 2023. He also criticized President Bola Tinubu's administration, suggesting it was competing with Buhari in certain areas.

Efforts to get a reaction from the Presidency were unsuccessful. Obasanjo's reflections on his long public service aim to make Nigeria better and provide lessons for future leaders.

Buhari's former spokesman, Mallam Garba Shehu, suggested that Obasanjo's dislike for the late president may have stemmed from disagreements over projects like the Mambilla Power Project.
