Peter Obi Condemns Misuse of N600 Million Public Funds in Adamawa State Trip to Turkey

Labour Party presidential candidate for the 2023 general election, Peter Obi, criticized the alleged misuse of public funds by the wives of 21 local government chairmen in Adamawa State for a trip to Turkey under the guise of leadership training. Obi highlighted the dire state of basic education in the region, emphasizing the lack of classrooms and teachers, impacting children's education.

He estimated that the N600 million spent on the trip could have built 30 blocks of six classrooms, directly benefiting the community. Obi urged for more investment in education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation in Adamawa State.

He commended Governor Ahmadu Fintiri's efforts in infrastructure development but stressed the urgent need for improvement in critical sectors like education.
