Oladele: Obi, Kwankwaso Can't Halt Tinubu's Re-election

Kayode Oladele, a former lawmaker from Ogun State, asserted that the alliance between Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, will not be sufficient to stop Bola Tinubu's bid for re-election in 2027. Oladele emphasized that while there is excitement around the proposed partnership, it lacks the necessary political structure and organizational strength to challenge the incumbent government effectively.

He noted that the political landscape in Nigeria requires broad coalitions that cut across geographical and ethnic lines, which the current alliance does not provide. Oladele pointed out that past attempts at opposition alliances have often struggled due to personal interests rather than cohesive ideologies.

He credited Tinubu's political experience and strategic coalition-building as significant advantages for the APC, which currently controls 30 states and has a strong grassroots network. Oladele also acknowledged the economic reforms initiated by Tinubu's administration, arguing that while they may cause temporary hardship, they are essential for Nigeria's long-term economic stability.
