Galadima Addresses Challenges for Obi-Kwankwaso Ticket

Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), addressed the challenges faced in garnering support for the presidential ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso during a prime-time television program on Wednesday. He acknowledged that while the alliance encounters resistance, the difficulties are not insurmountable.

Galadima urged Nigerians to refrain from holding Peter Obi accountable for the events surrounding the 1966 military coup, clarifying that Obi was not involved in that historical incident. He stressed the importance of moving beyond historical grievances, citing the example of late Biafran leader Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, who was pardoned after the Nigerian Civil War and later participated in the democratic process.

Galadima maintained that reconciliation and constructive engagement are essential to overcoming Nigeria's political and ethnic divisions, emphasizing that many problems can be resolved through dialogue and understanding.
