Obi Launches 150-Day Youth Campaign for 2027 Election

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), announced a 150-day campaign aimed at engaging Nigerian youths in the lead-up to the presidential election scheduled for January 16, 2027. Obi plans to connect with youths through town halls, campuses, online platforms, and football communities.

In a letter titled “Beyond Football: The Match for a Better Nigeria,” he urged youths to recognize that the most significant match is not in European football leagues but in Nigeria, where good governance is essential for the country's development. He highlighted that Nigeria possesses the talent to excel in football and other sectors but lacks the leadership to create an enabling environment.

Obi called on youths to mobilize, vote, and defend their votes, asserting that their participation in elections is as crucial as their passion for football. He emphasized that the journey towards better governance and football in Nigeria begins with active youth engagement in the electoral process.
