Obidi Movement Rejects Abuja Election Results Amid Violence

The Obidi Movement has publicly rejected the results of the Abuja Municipal Area Council chairmanship election held on Saturday, expressing profound disappointment and anger over what they describe as a "brazen assault" on democracy. Dr.

Yunusa Tanko, the movement's national coordinator, alleged widespread irregularities, voter suppression, and violence that undermined the credibility of the polls. The election saw the Progress Congress winning five out of six area council chairmanship seats in the Federal Capital Territory.

The Obidi Movement supported the African Democratic Congress candidate, Dr. Mose Paul, who they believe represents a vision for a new Nigeria.

The situation escalated with the murder of their agent, Musa Abubakar Dege, during the election process, which the movement condemned as a tragic consequence of electoral fraud and violence. They are calling for a full review of the election results and justice for Dege, emphasizing that his death should not go unpunished.
