ADC Claims Peter Obi's Exit Was Pre-Planned Strategy

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has characterized Peter Obi's exit from the party as a pre-planned move, despite him receiving several significant concessions, including an appointment as national organizing secretary. Bolaji Abdullahi, ADC's national public secretary, stated that Obi's departure was not surprising and was part of a long-standing plan.

Abdullahi noted that the party remains committed to building a credible alternative for Nigerians, despite the challenges posed by individual ambitions. He dismissed claims that ongoing legal uncertainties influenced Obi's decision, labeling them as insufficient justification for the exit.

Abdullahi also mentioned that discussions involving Obi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and Seriake Dickson raised serious questions about broader political calculations aimed at reshaping the opposition landscape ahead of the 2027 elections. He urged politicians to be transparent about their motivations and to provide honest reasons for their decisions, emphasizing that Nigerians deserve clarity.
