Iyabo Obasanjo Withdraws, Supports Consensus Candidate Adeola

Iyabo Obasanjo, daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has officially withdrawn from the gubernatorial race in Ogun State, announcing her decision during a meeting held at the APC secretariat in Abeokuta. This meeting, which lasted two hours, involved significant party figures, including former governors Olusegun Osoba, Ibikunle Amosun, and Gbenga Daniel.

The gathering resulted in the emergence of Solomon Olamilekan Adeola as the consensus candidate for the APC in the 2027 gubernatorial elections. In her statement, Iyabo Obasanjo expressed gratitude for the support she received and congratulated Adeola, wishing him success in the upcoming elections.

She emphasized her commitment to the party and the importance of unity as they move forward together in Ogun State.
