Oborevwori Proposes National Dialogue for Unity and Growth

Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State, credited President Bola Tinubu's bold reforms for Nigeria's economic rebound during a centenary lecture at the Yoruba Tennis Club in Lagos. He highlighted the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira as necessary, albeit painful, decisions that have begun to yield positive outcomes.

Oborevwori proposed the institutionalization of a national conference every ten years to strengthen governance and national unity, suggesting that this would replace ad hoc responses to crises. He emphasized the importance of inclusive governance, which ensures representation across all societal segments, particularly vulnerable groups.

The governor called for a review of national priorities and stressed the need for proactive governance rather than reactive measures. He also underscored the significance of leadership in making tough decisions for the overall interest of the country, advocating for investments in youth programs and healthcare to foster national cohesion.
