Diri Praises Delta Ijaw Unity for Tinubu, Oborevwori Support

On Wednesday, Douye Diri, the Governor of Bayelsa State, commended the Delta Ijaw community for their endorsement of Bola Tinubu and Sheriff Oborevwori's re-election during a grand reception in Bomadi, Delta State. Diri highlighted the necessity of ethnic unity for progress and development, stating that the voices of the Ijaw people would be taken seriously.

He expressed his support for Oborevwori, acknowledging his performance in his first term and justifying the quest for a second term. Diri emphasized the need for leadership in the Niger Delta region that prioritizes service to the people rather than personal gain.

He discussed the potential for collaboration with Delta colleagues to bridge projects linking Ijaw communities. Diri also noted the challenges faced in developing Ijawland due to difficult terrain but expressed confidence in overcoming these obstacles.

Sheriff Oborevwori, in response, appreciated the support from the Ijaw community, feeling that it was a homecoming for him.
