Sheriff Oborevwori Declared Delta APC Governorship Candidate

Sheriff Oborevwori has emerged as the unopposed governorship candidate for the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in preparation for the 2027 general elections. The announcement was made following the results of a direct primary election conducted across the state on Thursday, where Oborevwori secured 345,375 votes.

The results were announced at the APC secretariat in Asaba by Vita Abba, the chairman of the APC governorship primary election committee, who declared Oborevwori the winner after confirming that he met the constitutional requirements and scored the highest number of votes cast. Oborevwori, who cast his vote at Oha Ward in Okpe Local Government Area, described the direct primary system as a reflection of internal democracy within the party and called for unity among party members ahead of the upcoming elections.

Delta State Deputy Governor Mondai Onyem noted the significant turnout during the primary as a sign of support for the APC administration, while Solomon Arenyeka, the Delta APC chairman, commended party members for their peaceful conduct during the exercise.
