Oborevwori Praises APC's Peaceful Primary Election in Delta

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori commended the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for conducting a peaceful and transparent direct primary election. This election, held on May 21, 2026, saw Oborevwori emerge as the sole governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections, receiving 345 out of 375 votes.

He emphasized the importance of unity within the party and praised the high turnout of voters across 270 wards, reflecting grassroots participation. The election was noted for its adherence to due process, marking a significant departure from previous political experiences in the state, as it was conducted without violence.

Victor Abba, the chairman of the Delta State Governorship Primary Election Committee, announced the results at the party's secretariat in Asaba. Oborevwori expressed gratitude for the support received and highlighted the APC's commitment to a peaceful electoral process, which he believes will strengthen the party's chances in the upcoming elections.
