Ohaa Commits to Cover Medical Costs for Obuoffia Attack Victims

Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, the governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), visited victims of an attack in Obuoffia, where many party members were injured during a meeting on September 12, 2026. Ohaa expressed his sorrow over the incident, stating that no political ambition justifies violence.

He reported that eight members sustained gunshot injuries and called for a thorough investigation by the State Police Command. Ohaa recounted the attack, noting that there were reports of disruptions at other political gatherings in Nkanu West on the same day, which heightened concerns about security in the area.

He emphasized the need for citizens to feel safe attending political meetings and participating in democracy. Ohaa assured the victims that he would take responsibility for their medical care and any related obligations, expressing solidarity as a fellow citizen of Enugu.
