NDC's Chinyeaka Ohaa Faces Gunmen at Campaign Event

On Saturday, during the official campaign flag-off for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, gunmen suspected to be political thugs shot sporadically into the air, injuring one party member. The incident occurred shortly after Ohaa's address at the GRA campaign office in Enugu.

This attack follows a recent similar incident at Obuoffia, where many party faithful sustained gunshot injuries. The assailants, who arrived on motorcycles and in vehicles, disrupted the event but were pursued by security personnel, who recovered one motorcycle.

Ohaa's deputy governorship candidate, Okenwa Omeje, expressed determination to continue their campaign despite the intimidation, stating they would occupy the Government House next year. Ohaa promised to address over taxation, improve pension payments, and ensure steady power supply if elected governor.
