Odegbami Names Enyeama Best Goalkeeper in Nigeria's History

Former Super Eagles captain Segun Odegbami has declared Vincent Enyeama the best goalkeeper to have played for Nigeria, ahead of Emmanuel Okala and Best Ogedegbe. During an appearance on the Play Zone podcast, Odegbami analyzed the strengths of each goalkeeper, stating that while Okala was intimidating, Ogedegbe had the potential to play as a forward due to his skills.

He noted that Enyeama's ability to read the game made him a standout, as he was calculative and instilled confidence in his teammates. Odegbami, who was instrumental in Nigeria's first Africa Cup of Nations title in 1980, scoring twice in the final, has a record of 23 goals in 46 appearances for Nigeria.

Enyeama debuted for the national team in May 2002 and became a key player, making 101 appearances before retiring in 2015. He was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013.
