Dr. Odiraa Nwankwor to Receive Philanthropist Award

Dr. Odiraa Nwankwor, a renowned pediatric critical care specialist and global health advocate, will be honored with the Philanthropist of the Year Award at the 5th edition ceremony on July 18, 2026, at Stanel Dome, Awka.

This recognition is awarded by AMTI to celebrate Anambra indigenes who inspire hope and promote positive impacts in various fields. Dr.

Nwankwor, an associate professor at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Jefferson University, has had a distinguished medical career, including establishing the first organized pediatric intensive care unit in Nigeria at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital in Enugu State. He has also led significant healthcare interventions and donated medical equipment to various tertiary health institutions.

His commitment extends to founding the Global Health Project Inc., focusing on improving healthcare access for critically ill children in underserved communities across Africa.
