Odumeje Rejects Tithing Practices in His Ministry

Prophet Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje or Indabosky Bahose, has clarified that tithing is not practiced or preached in his church, the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry. During an appearance on the Honest Bunch Podcast, published on YouTube on October 19, 2026, he expressed that his ministry focuses on different priorities.

Odumeje criticized churches that prioritize financial contributions from members, suggesting they often lack spiritual substance. He distinguished between the practice of tithing and the coercive methods some churches use to enforce it, stating that while he does not view tithing as inherently wrong, it should not be a source of pressure or manipulation.

He condemned clergy who threaten members with spiritual consequences for not paying tithes, asserting that such messages are contrary to God's will.
