APC's Akinbod Accuses PDP of Election Blackmail in Ogun

Ifekayode Akinbod, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of engaging in blackmail and propaganda out of fear of defeat in the upcoming 2027 governorship election. Akinbod's statements, issued on a Friday, were a response to comments made by Ladi Adebutu, the PDP campaign spokesperson, against Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.

Akinbod described Adeola as a legitimate son of Ogun State, whose roots contribute positively to the state. He asserted that the PDP's attacks on Adeola's ancestry reflect their panic and lack of confidence, as the senator enjoys widespread acceptance across Ogun State.

Akinbod emphasized that the PDP's attempts to distract voters through propaganda would not alter the established facts about Adeola's identity. He urged the PDP to focus on preparing for the elections rather than resorting to media attacks against political opponents.
