Ogun State Assembly Passes Bill to Regulate Scavengers and Waste Dealers

The Ogun State House of Assembly has approved the Scavengers and Waste Dealers Bill 2025 to oversee the operations of waste handlers in the state, aiming to enhance public order, environmental safety, and peaceful coexistence. The bill was presented by the House Committee on Environment, chaired by Samsideen Lawal, and received unanimous support during the plenary session presided over by Speaker Oludaisi Elemid.

The legislation will now be forwarded to Governor Dapo Abiodun for final approval.
