Ogun Community Raises Alarm Over Quarry-Induced Health Crisis

The Isara community in Ogun State is facing a health crisis due to unchecked quarry operations, leading to serious health risks like asthma, lung diseases, and skin cancer. The community has appealed to Governor Dapo Abiodun and the Ogun State House of Assembly to address the environmental degradation caused by the quarries.

The residents complain of neglect, intimidation, and unfair treatment by quarry operators who allegedly collaborate to flout regulations. They also highlight the indiscriminate sale of land for quarry purposes, illegal fee collection, and environmental damage.

The community demands immediate government intervention to enforce mining laws, protect their rights, and ensure safety and dignity.
