Ogun East APC Names Dapo Abiodun as Consensus Candidate

The Ogun East chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially adopted Dapo Abiodun, the current governor of Ogun State, as the consensus candidate for the senatorial ticket representing the Ogun East senatorial district. This decision was reached during a stakeholders' meeting held at the Adeola Odutola Hall in Ijebu Ode, which included various party leaders, including the deputy governor and former local government chairmen.

The meeting aimed to unify support for Abiodun, with former senator Lekan Mustapha voicing his endorsement. However, the meeting was marred by controversy when incumbent Senator Gbenga Daniel arrived but was denied entry by security personnel, who did not identify themselves.

This incident created a tense atmosphere as Daniel's supporters were reportedly bused to the venue but were also not allowed access. The Ogun East caucus announced that they would cover Abiodun's nomination fee, further solidifying his position as the party's candidate.
