APC Selects Salisu as Consensus Candidate for Ogun Central

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has chosen Shuaib Afolabi Salisu as the consensus candidate for the Ogun Central Senatorial District for the forthcoming 2027 elections, effectively sidelining former Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun. Salisu, who currently represents Ogun Central and is seeking a second term, was announced as the candidate during an event held at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Kuto, Abeokuta.

Governor Dapo Abiodun explained that the consensus method was introduced to ensure the emergence of a credible candidate who would contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of the party in the state. He urged party members to maintain peace and decorum during the primary elections scheduled to commence on Friday.

APC State Chairman Yemi Sanusi also called for unity within the party to ensure a successful election period.
